THE ARTIST

A native of Buffalo, New York (U.S.A.), Pat studied portraiture there for many years under the tutetalege of Maestro Laszlo Szabo and Walter A. Prochownick. She also studied portraiture as well as landscape with Jerry Farnsworth in Massachusetts.

When she came to live in Venice, Italy, she attended the Accademia delle Belle Arti where she studied painting with Maestri Giuseppe di San Tomaso and Bruno Saetti, and apprenticed herself later to Maestro Galileo Borin to learn etching and lithograph techniques at his atelier near San Marco.

Five years later, Pat moved to Rome, where she was introduced to watercolours thanks to a well known painter, Michael Harrison, with whom she studied for several years. Other teachers who have contributed to Pat's lifelong artistic development in both watercolour and oil painting are: Ron Ranson, Rolando Di Gaetano and Lucy Willis (with whom she has attended several workshops). One just never stops learning!

Pat has made her home in Bracciano, near the beautiful lake of the same name. Rome's international airport is only a few minutes away, and Pat travels frequently to various parts of the world. And, of course, Italy itself is at her doorstep, just waiting to be painted!

Pat has held several personal shows in Bracciano and Anguillara over the years, and her work has been presented in many collective shows in Bracciano, Trevignano, Manziana, Rome, and Buffalo. Her paintings are held in private collections in various countries in Europe as well as in Canada and the United States.

Pat Hegedus è nata a Buffalo, New York (U.S.A.), dove ha studiato la tecnica dei ritratti per molti anni, sotto la guida dei maestri Lazlo Szabo e Walter A. Prochownick. Più tardi, ha studiato metodo per quanto riguarda ritratti e paesaggi con Jerry Farnsworth, a Massachusetts.

Quando Pat è arrivata a Venezia, ha cominciato a frequentare l'Accademia delle Belle Arti dove ha avuto l'opportunità di studiare la pittura con i maestri Giuseppe di San Tomaso e Bruno Saetti. Più tardi, ha imparato le tecniche di acquaforte e litografia con il maestro Galileo Borin, nel suo atelier vicino a San Marco.

Dopo cinque anni a Venezia, Pat si è trasferita a Roma, dove ha appreso la tecnica dell'acquarello, grazie ad un pittore inglese molto conosciuto - Michael Harrison - con il quale ha studiato pittura per molti anni. Pat ha ampliato le sue capacità tecniche ed artistiche sia con gli acquarelli che con la pittura ad olio, con vari maestri: Ron Ranson, Rolando di Gaetano e Lucy Willis (frequentando i molti atelier di quest'ultima). Pat dice sempre che non si finisce mai di imparare!

Pat vive a Bracciano, bellissimo paesino sul lago che porta lo stesso nome. La sua casa dista pochi chilometri dall'aeroporto internazionale di Roma, e Pat è un'appassionata viaggiatrice. E poi basta uscire di casa e c'è tutto un mondo da dipingere!

Pat ha presentato diverse mostre personali a Bracciano ed Anguillara. Ha participato anche a parecchie mostre colletive a Bracciano, Trevignano, Manziana, Roma e Buffalo. I dipinti di Pat si trovano ora in collezioni private in vari paesi europei, in Canada e negli Stati Uniti.
